The masks that we collected before the summer have already arrived in Uganda! And thanks to them, the children have been able to start attending school.
And as you will remember, this is not a trivial issue, since children who did not have masks could not go to school; a circumstance that was becoming a real situation with the potential risk of suffering sexual abuse because they had to stay at home. This dramatic situation has been prevented since the arrival of the masks.
It should be noted that one of the main principles of the ‘Saluganda’ project is to promote autonomous and non-dependent communities. And in this sense, thanks to the contribution of Nergroup, these communities have been able to purchase sewing machines so that they can continue to provide themselves with reusable masks. From our Organization, we will continue to support projects of this nature that favor the creation of a fairer, more equitable and supportive world.
